What's New at Pediatric Associates...
Flu Vaccine The American Academy of Pediatrics and The CDC recommend that all children ages 6 months to 18 years receive Seasonal Flu Vaccine each year. This year it is recommended that this group of children should also receive a dose of Novel H1N1 Vaccine (Swine Flu). For more information about the Flu vaccine for 2009-2010, go to The CDC information site at www.cdc.gov/flu/ Flu Vaccine Appointments We currently have seasonal flu vaccine and H1N1 injectable vaccine for all children 6 months to 18 years. The vaccines we have now are not preservative free, but are felt to be safe for all ages. Appointments for flu shots can be made for 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Children 6 months through 9 years will need 2 doses if this is their first year receiving the Flu vaccine. The second dose must be at least 28 days from the first dose. This will give them a boost to ensure coverage for the remainder of the season.
